Streetlifting can't be done properly on a wobbly pull-up bar bolted to a cable machine. When you're hanging with 100+ pounds strapped to your waist, you need rock-solid infrastructure. We've invested in the only indoor setup of this caliber in the Denver area.
One of the biggest myths out there is that you need to already be advanced before walking into a place like this. That's backwards. You come here to get strong. Walking into a serious gym for the first time can feel nerve-wracking — we get it. But once you're through the door, you'll realize pretty quickly that everybody started somewhere, and nobody here is going to judge you for being new.
Whether your goal is competing in your first streetlifting meet or you just want to finally nail a heavy weighted pull-up, there's a spot for you.
We're a great fit for beginners — probably better than most commercial gyms — because we prioritize doing things right over doing them heavy.
Not everyone who trains here wants to compete, and that's perfectly fine — but you do need to bring the right attitude. If you're willing to show up consistently and grind through the hard days, you'll find a community that has your back — people who'll spot you, share their knowledge, and celebrate your wins right alongside you.
For members who reach specific performance benchmarks, there's also a pathway onto the Iron Fortress Streetlifting team under Iron Fortress Athletics. But even if competition isn't your thing, you're still training in an environment where the bar is set high and the people around you make you better by default.
We built Iron Fortress because we were frustrated. Every gym we tried had the same problems: flimsy pull-up bars that couldn't handle real weight, no space for weighted calisthenics, and a general attitude that what we did wasn't "serious" training. We spent years training outdoors — freezing in winter, baking in summer — because there simply wasn't an indoor facility that took streetlifting seriously.
So we built exactly what we wanted. A gym designed by people who actually do this sport, for people who actually do this sport. A place where the pull-up bar gets the same respect as the squat rack. A place where adding 100 pounds to your dip gets the same reaction as a massive deadlift PR.
Whether you're working toward your first weighted pull-up or prepping for nationals, this is where you'll find the equipment, the coaching, and the people to help you get there.
Iron Fortress Athletics
Iron Fortress Athletics fields a streetlifting team. The athlete program is currently under construction — once it opens, spots will be earned through training at the Fortress and a short trial. Read more about the team and the pathway.
